Nota Bene chased leader, clear of remainder, led over 1f out, stayed on well
Tamagin led at fast gallop, ridden and headed over 1f out, no extra inside final furlong
Berbice outpaced in midfield, ridden well over 3f out, went modest 3rd inside final furlong, no chance with leaders
Capricorn Run soon well outpaced in last, some late headway, never on terms
Woodnook chased leading pair, outpaced 3f out, no chance with leaders after
Fajr soon outpaced in last pair, never dangerous
Jebel Tara outpaced in midfield, ridden 4f out, well behind final 2f out, tailed off
He kept on well to bounce back in tremendous style from his spellin the wilderness and earn a crack at the Wokingham for which he is due to carry 8st 11lb, but he incurs a 5lb penalty for this success. A high-class and most progressive sprinter in his youth, he has developed the very worrying tendency to break blood vessels, which in itself would be enough to put many punters off backing him, but he's potentially a well-handicapped horse nowadays if building on this and staying sound, and this was an excellent effort off such a lengthy absence.
Berbice was very strong in the market but he could never land a blow on the front pair, just keeping on at the one pace for pressure. He was dropping back in trip having not appeared to see out the 7f at Newmarket on seasonal return but this effort suggests he might need that extra furlong.
Capricorn Run got outpaced and was virtually tailed off at one point but despite plugging on for pressure he was beaten 7l and he's not at his best at present.
