Almaty Express made all, clear well over 1f out, unchallenged
Russian Symphony behind, ridden over 2f out, stayed on front over 1f out, went 2nd towards finish, no chance with winner
Lord Of The Reins in touch, ridden and effort over 2f out, chased winner 1f out, no impression, lost 2nd towards finish
Hammer Of The Gods chased leaders, ridden well over 1f out, kept on same pace
Ice Planet behind, pushed along and headway over 2f out, not clear run briefly well over 1f out, never troubled leaders
Silver Prelude chased winner, ridden well over 1f out, weakened quickly final furlong
New York Oscar soon bustled along in rear, never dangerous
Diane´s Choice chased leaders, ridden 3f out, weakened quickly well over 1f out
Although he appeared to blast off at a pretty strong pace, he always had a couple of lengths march on the field and his lead wasn't really in any danger coming up the straight. This was a career-best effort from the winner having never won off a mark above 74 before (81 here), but the key to his chance is often whether he faces competition for the lead.
Russian Symphony hasn't won for a long time and he was returning from a 131-day absence but he shaped encouragingly, staying on nicely from off the pace, over a trip shy of his optimum.
Hammer Of The Gods normally likes to dictate but he didn't have the pace to do so dropping back in trip. He kept on in the closing stages but was never a factor.
