Decameron had run well for a 7lb claimer on his debut here 16 days previously, when he had hung left in the closing stages on the fast ground and displayed similar traits on his return. He was travelling comfortably just off the pace but appeared to be feeling the ground when asked for maximum effort and changed his legs in the final furlong. He finished well clear of the third and theloss of his maiden tag is a formality, but a little cut in the ground could see him in a much better light.
French Art led for five furlongs but weakened in the final furlong. He didn't travel that well to post and is another who could be seen in a better light on easier ground.
Dolcetto was another to shape encouragingly on ground that could have been lively enough for her and wasn't subjected to a hard time in the closing stages after making headway over two furlongs out.
Mont Cervin chased the leaders for a long way and kept on under pressure. He can improve further with experience.
Lilburn was another who ran as if there will be more to be heard from him in the future.
Ghufa is a another who should find races in due course as he was making his Racecourse debut at the age of four and was prominent for a long way until tiring in the final two furlongs.
