Isaac Newton held up, went prominent 7th, led between last 2f, hard ridden run-in, all out
Wotchalike held up, steady headway 8th, challenged final furlong, hard ridden and just failed
Gatecrasher chased leaders, led after 8th, ridden next and hung left, headed between last 2f, soon weakened
Scuzme chased leaders, hit 6th, weakened next
Whistle Blowing took keen hold, led after 2nd, headed after 8th, weakened next, jumped left 2f out, soon behind
Kalatime chased leaders, disputed lead 3f out, weakened 2f out, clear 4th when heavily eased run-in, lame
Tirol Livit took keen hold, tracked leaders, weakened 8th, soon well behind, tailed off
Francescas Boy led util after 2nd, chased leaders, reminders 5th, soon lost place, tailed off 7th, pulled up before 3 out
So a decent opportunity for ISAAC NEWTON, who was dropped in class and probably did not need to improve much on the pick ofhis previous hurdling efforts - he looks less than enthusiastic and needed strong driving to hold on after leading between the last two flights and this is probably his grade.
Wotchalike had been a decent winner in selling company at Uttoxeter five days earlier but that had been on ground with more give in it and he did not seem quite at his best on this firmer surface, travelling well for a long way but finding less than might have been expected when push came to shove.
