Cast Iron Casey soon close up, ridden after 4 out, weakened next
Percussionist close up, lost place after 1st, no danger after
Stormy Beech tracked leaders to 3rd, lost place before next, soon beaten
Act Sirius held up, struggling halfway, never on terms
BORDER TALE, only 2lb higher than hislast win back in 2007, ran a moody sort of race last time but seemed quite happy on this occasion out in front. He ran right away from his rivals off the home bend and won easily.
Day To Remember did well to claim second as his jockey was giving him plenty of encouragement with about a circuit to go. It is a long time since he forced his head in front.
Regent's Secret, who was under pressure with a circuit to go, stayed on well but was never a threat and only passed some tired horses up thehill.
Quicuyo was one of the three that were clear at the third-last but he found very little after travelling well.
Histoire De Moeurs, with a tongue-tie on for the first time, travelled strongly for a lot of the race but fell in a heap once asked to pick up the winner. She did something similar last time, so one has to think that the handicapper has her measure now.
Percussionist jumped the first slowly and completely lost interest from that point.
Act Sirius was already about two lengths detached by the second hurdle and was being niggled shortly afterwards.
