According To Pete chased leaders, led 10th, made rest, pushed out run-in
That´s Rhythm held up, mistake 5th, headway and prominent 11th, every chance 4 out, ridden next, kept on under pressure from last
Zitenka held up, headway and prominent 11th, outpaced before 3 out, plugged on to take third run-in, no chance with first two
Belon Gale held up, niggled from halfway, outpaced before 3 out, plodded on same pace from next, no impression
Charming Knight close up, led 6th to 10th, left behind by first two from 3 out, weakened and lost third run-in
Super Boston led to 6th, close up until weakened after 10th
Charlie Crab prominent, blundered 6th, blundered badly and unseated rider 11th
Cloisters Hill midfield, lost place 9th, tailed off when pulled up after 12th
Omix D´Or jumped right, close up, outpaced when mistake 4 out, soon weakened, tailed off when pulled up before last
Pendle Forest soon well behind, tailed off when pulled up before 3 out
That's Rhythm has had problems but runs well fresh and was a good second in a strong beginners' chase on his last start in May. He was held up on the inside and lost a little ground with a mistakein the back straight, so his task of closing down the winner was made a little more difficult, but he was the only one able to give the winner a race. He showed enough to win a novice chase.
Zitenka had been all out to win his first novice chase at Killarney in May. Making his debut for connections after changing hands for 31,000gns at the Doncaster Sales in August, he jumped adequately and stayed on late but was no match for the first two. He looks a big chasing type and will come on for this outing.
Charming Knight, who ran up a hat-trick of point-to-pointing wins in the spring, had raced freely in both previous starts under rules. Settling better while racing prominently here, he paid the price for trying to go with the winner as the tempo quickened and was a spent force by the home straight.
Super Boston was prominent for a while, but is yet to score in eight attempts over fences, and was up against it off his rating of 64.
Omix D'Or was free early on before starting to jump right from halfway. He ran well after a four-month break to finish second at Perth last week and was probably feeling the effects of that race.
