Analyis of the race

A modest handicap but contested by some in-form types and TRACHONITIS returned to winning form on turf in good style. He was held up until making progress over a furlong out and readily pulled clear once hitting the front inside the final furlong. Hehandled the fast ground and can follow up in a similar race on this evidence.

Brief Goodbye returned to form on his reappearance over 1m3f at Windsor 19 days earlier and ran another sound race. He appeared to be travelling as well as anything whenleading well over a furlong out and the longer trip didn't appear too much of a problem. His shrewd trainer can place him to advantage soon.

Pass The Port is another who has been running consistently and he stayed on quite well. He has gone up theweights a little but can continue to give a good account of himself in this sort of company.

Wind Flow had been running well on the all-weather but found this a different proposition in the final furlong after having his chance.

Irish Quest looked a picture in the paddock but continues to disappoint and went out like a light once headed. He is not running up to his decent three-year-old form and should be left alone until showing signs of a revival.
