Unnefer held up, headway over 2f out, led over 1f out, ridden out
Pampas Cat slowly into stride, soon prominent, led 2f out, ridden, hung left and headed over 1f out, stayed on same pace inside final furlong, eased last strides
Age Of Reason led, ridden and headed 2f out, hung left and outpaced over 1f out, stayed on well towards finish
Drill Sergeant chased leader 6f, ridden and weakened over 1f out
Gaspar Van Wittel held up, headway over 3f out, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
Pampas Cat had won over course and distance on his debut and found the company just a little too tough in the Chester Vase, but he produced another sound effort here. He tracked the leader until going ontwo furlongs from home and kept on when headed by the winner. He looks up to winning in this grade and can improve.
Drill Sergeant didn't do a lot for those who have supported Curtain Call for the Derby, as he was beaten in a handicap last time and faded in the final furlong here after having every chance two furlongs out. Perhaps the ground was too fast for him and he deserves another chance in handicap company when the ground eases.
Gaspar Van Wittel appears to be struggling after being busy early on and his best form has been on easier ground.
