Officer Mor went badly left start, soon prominent and led after 1f, ridden clear over 1f out, kept on
Secret Venue led 1f, close up, ridden along 2f out, driven and kept on same pace entering final furlong
Captain Scooby towards rear and pushed along on inner halfway, headway over 1f out, switched left and ridden entering final furlong, kept on well
Calley Ho chased leaders, ridden well over 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong
Drachenfels dwelt and in rear until headway on outer over 1f out, ridden and edged right inside final furlong, nearest finish
Northumberland close up, ridden along 2f out, weakened approaching last
Nimmy´s Special chased leaders on outer, ridden along 2f out, soon weakened
Rios Boy always outpaced in rear
There was a mixed bag for this juvenile contest, which was won in decisive fashion by OFFICER MOR who, despite swerving left from his outside stall, was soon back on an even keel. He asserted his superiority in the closing stages and looks a horse who will continue to progress.
Secret Venue shaped well in second. A likeable sort, but looking burly, he showed definite signs of ability and will surely improve a good deal more with this run under his belt.
Calley Ho, a horse with a speedy pedigree, display a hint of ability, keeping on inside the last.
Drachenfels was unable to capitalise on his previous experience, while Northumberland is a grand sort of colt, but he was carrying a sizeable amount of condition for his debut. After chasing the leaders, he came under pressure at halfway and, inclined to wander as he tired, he gradually weakened.
