Plum Pudding made all, ridden clear from over 1f out

Dingaan tracked leaders, raced keenly, went 2nd over 1f out, stayed on same pace

Big Noise held up, headway halfway, chased winner over 2f out until ridden over 1f out, no extra

Purus chased leaders, outpaced over 2f out, hung left over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong

Jedburgh slowly into stride, held up, headway over 1f out, soon ridden, weakened inside final furlong

Ivory Lace held up, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out

Phluke chased leader until ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out

Forest Dane held up, headway halfway, ridden over 2f out, soon weakened

A pleasing effort from course specialist PLUM PUDDING under a cracking ride from Ryan Moore as he secured his fourth victory in great style. His previous three wins had been over a mile here but the drop to 7f helped produce improvement. He led towards the centre from the outset but his rider had kept plenty up his sleeve for the closing stages and quickened again from over a furlong out and kept on strongly. He keeps his best for this course but his handicap rating will soar again for this effort.

Dingaan, from a stable in form, ran his best race this term and kept on without having a chance with the winner but could soon find a race at a similar level. Big Noise was all the rage in the market but he put in a disappointing effort. He had been held up and travelled well but when asked to go after the leader over a furlong out, his run soon flattened out. He had looked an improving individual last season and is better than he showed.
