Another low-grade handicap, which fell to DECHIPER, a previous course-and-distance winner. Given a good ride here, he was patiently handled off the pace before making steady headway to strike the front inside the last and then hold-off the strong-finishing runner-up. He shouldn't go up much for this and can probably win again.

Dan Tucker, probably suited by this return to 1m2f, gave a much more encouraging display. Digging deep approaching the final furlong, he finished to some effect only to find the winning post coming a fraction too soon; he should not be long in winning.

Resplendent Ace confirmed his well-being with a solid effort, while the front-running African Pursuits kept on after being headed.

Foreign Edition, back on turf, ran an encouraging race, but the remainder were comfortably held in the end.
