Mondovi held up behind leaders on stands' side, switched left and headway under 2f out, edged right and led over 1f out, ran on well
Fantasy Explorer raced behind leaders on stands' side, ridden and headway over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong, not pace of winner
Mambo Spirit chased leader on far side, ridden over 1f out, led sole rival on that side inside final furlong, kept on but no chance with stands' side group
Bahamian Ballet prominent on stands' side, ridden when not much room and hampered over 1f out, kept on same pace after
Royal Envoy chased leaders on stands' side, ridden 2f out, one pace from over 1f out
Cape Royal raced on stands' rail, led, ridden and headed over 1f out, hung left when weakening inside final furlong
Coconut Moon led sole rival on far side, ridden over 1f out, headed on that side inside final furlong, soon weakened
Jilly Why slipped start, raced stands' side, always behind
Ex-German sprinter MONDOVI was facing less-exacting opposition than when making her British debut at Lingfield a fortnight previously and she took advantage, leading on the stands' side around 1f out and holding on well. She is potentially useful and as she stays at least 7f she should not be too hard to place.
Fantasy Explorer was having only his fourth run since 2006 but showed he retains plenty of ability, keeping on for second - he is well handicapped.
Bahamian Ballet ran creditably - he was slightly hampered by the winner over 1f but it did not make a great deal of difference. Royal Envoy had been put up 9lb for his Thirsk win and ran respectably, while Cape Royal set the pace on the stands' rail but does not look as though poised to end his losing run. Hat-trick-seeking Jilly Why stumbled coming out of the stalls and is worth another chance.
