More in-form horses than not in this sprint handicap but no confirmed front-runner and they did not go a great pace for much of the way. But that did not hinder OBE GOLD, who was always always tracking the leader before going on around 2f out and came clear for a most decisive success. He looks to have been brought right back to his best this year by his new trainer and would have to be taken very seriously if turned out under a penalty.

Stablemate Heywood is another new recruit who looks to have been nursed back to form - he is well handicapped after taking time to find his best and is well worth keeping an eye on.

Ellens Academy is plenty high enough in the weights and was another unsuited by the modest gallop, never able to get to the leaders. Distinctly Game raced keenly in the lead to 2f out and weakened over 1f out.
