Analyis of the race
Plenty of sprinters with chances in quite a competitive race for an apprentices' handicap. So this was probably a fair effort by MANDURAH as he was squeezed out at the start but recovered quickly to chase the leaders before going on well inside the final furlong. He had slipped to a decent mark after failing to sparkle on generally softer ground previously this season and will escape a penalty in near-to-hand engagements as this was an apprentices' race so he has fair prospects of following up - he goes well on this course.
Comptonspirit ran a decent race, leading 1f out until near the finish, but he has a low strike-rate and seems to need things to drop just right for him. Timber Treasure was dropping back in trip and ran as though he needs to revert to a slightly stiffer test, staying on to take third place late on - he did best of those coming from off the pace and clearly remains on good form.
