SUSIE MAY had made a winning debut for Gary Moore on the all-weather at Kempton, and she followed up here off a 6lb higher mark, making it two wins from three starts at the track. She needed firm riding to get on top, but she stays a fair bit further than this and was well on top at the finish. Provided she is not over faced there is no reason she can not continue progressing up the ranks for a while yet.
Saraba, another Kempton winner, was held up in rear and only took a remote third near the finish from Snake Skin, who had been up there from the start but finished further behind Summer Of Love despite a 6lb pull. Snake Skin handles this ground but seems better with give underfoot.
