Seamus Shindig tracked leaders, shaken up over 1f out, switched right inside final furlong, ran on well to lead final 50yds
Stamford Blue soon pushed into lead, ridden 2f out, kept on but no extra when headed final 50yds
China Cherub tracked leader, ridden over 2f out, kept on inside final furlong
Tony James mid-division, ridden over 2f out, closed on leaders entering final furlong, kept on
Fleuret chased leaders, ridden over 3f out, kept on inside final furlomg
Flying Goose settled in rear, switched right and ridden 2f out, kept on inside final furlong, not reach leaders
Kyle held up towards rear, ridden and headway over 2f out, not pace to challenge
Adantino mid-division, ridden well over 2f out, soon one pace
Compton´s Eleven mid-division, ridden 3f out, one pace final 2f
Gallantry held up in rear, ridden over 2f out, no impression
North South Divide pulled hard, held up in rear, ridden 2f out, weakened final furlong
Stamford Blue set a strong pace but still looked the likely winner into the final furlong after being clear 2f out with China Cherub.
SEAMUS SHINDIG travelled well tracking the pace and switched to the inside rail inside the drifting Stamford Blue, he was driven out to pounce on the line to follow up a similarly-gained win on his seasonal return. He has probably not had to improve on that effort despite a 4lb rise in the weights and he is now getting to the top end of the ratings for this banding.
Stamford Blue put in an improved effort for being allowed to bowl along from a good draw.
Nothing else threatened to land a blow, although the pack was closing when it was all over, led by Tony James and Fleuret, both of whom rarely win. Tony James, who has raced at a higher level but is continually swamped, is plummeting the handicap and this run suggests he is finding his winning level.
North South Divide, whose form entitled him to a leading role, was most disappointing. He could find no running room from halfway but when seeing daylight weakend tamely. He remains a maiden and this second effort in cheekpieces clearly did not have the same effect and he is one to have reservations about.
