Ansells Pride soon led, ridden over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong
Danehillsundance held up, ridden and headway over 1f out, switched right inside final furlong, ran on well and gaining at finish
Lord Theo always prominent, challenging 2f out, soon ridden, not quicken inside final furlong
Russian Epic raced keenly, always prominent, ridden 2f out, kept on same pace final furlong
Hoh Wotanite broke well, tracked leaders, ridden 2f out, stayed on same pace until no extra well inside final furlong
Ella Woodcock midfield, lost place over 3f out, ridden over 1f out, hung right entering final furlong, kept on but never able to challenge
Major Magpie held up, effort over 2f out, no impression from well over 1f out
Claret And Amber close up, steadied after 2f, raced off pace until headway over 3f out, ridden and weakened over 1f out
ANSELLS PRIDE certainly had the run of the race, soon going into the lead and, after steadily quickening it up in the straight, ran on gamely. He is a lightly raced sort with a good strike rate, ar he has now won four from nine, but though he won on the fast ground here, he is considered better on easier ground.
Danehillsundance, ridden from behind, took time to pick up and was just edged left when he started his run. He came home best but could not get to the winner and was not at all disgraced the way the race panned out.
Hoh Watanite had every chance, racing close to the pace for a long way, but Ella Woodcock had to be checked and lost ground early in the straight, and Major Magpie, who is a confirmed hold-upperformer, was not suited by the slow gallop.
