My Aunt Fanny in touch, hard driven and headway over 2f out, stayed on under pressure final furlong but not pace to press leading duo

Shesha Bear chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, kept on final furlong but never quite going pace to challenge
Finmore Queen took keen hold, in touch, not much room 2f out and edged left, switched right and not much room 1f out and quickened to chase leaders, soon one pace
Quirina chased leaders, ridden 2f out, weakened inside final furlong and eased close home

Lush in touch, ridden and effort 2f out, never quite going pace to reach leaders, weakened final furlong
Romantic Retreat in rear until moderate progress final furlong
Sevenna in rear when bumped and pushed left bend 4f out, moderate progress inside final furlong
Thirtyfourthstreet chased leaders, ridden 5f out, weakened 3f out
Lady Special soon ridden in rear, always behind
CASILDA was ideally placed throughout but might be all right nevertheless, as this would be a minimum trip for her. She had learned from her debut at Windsor and William Knight was pleased with the way she quickened up.
While the winner was barely ever worse than second, runner-up Sunny Peace was enjoying the run of the race up front. In fairness she had not been beaten far at Windsor last time after being short of room, so her good run should not have been too big a surprise.
My Aunt Fanny, dropped in class a little, ran well in third, just ahead of Madame Hoi, who is a bit better than the bare form as she had to work her way to the wide outside for her effort, having turned for home near the back of the field on the inside rail.
Favourite Quirina was a disappointment, as she was soon beaten after travelling well enough on the heels of the leader from her draw against the rail. She had shaped as if this longer trip would suit her at Chester, but perhaps it didn't. Either that or the ground was too quick.
