FLINTLOCK, who went off too fast over 7f at Yarmouth 13 days previously, put his early dash to great effect and was quick to bag the stands' rail. He eventually did the job comfortably from the front and the drop back to this trip worked the oracle. He should have a little more to offer back in nurseries over this trip now his confidence will be high.
Megasecret showed the clear benefit of his debut experience at Goodwood and improved significantly for this quicker surface. He should not remain a maiden for long and a stiffer test will suit him in due course.
Hawk's Eye stayed on nicely from off the pace and stepped up a good deal on the level of his debut form at Goodwood, but could still not confirm that form with the runner-up. He ought to fare even better when qualifying for an official rating after his next run.
The newcomers Ponting and Merry Diva both showed enough to suggest they will prove a deal sharper now they have this initial experience under their belts.
