This was a moderate event in which NORMAN BECKETT responded to a strong ride from Warren Marston from the final flight to mug the runner-up in the dying strides. He had looked frustrating up until this, but now that he’s got his head in front, there may be a turning of the tide.
The Honest Fiddler went down fighting in second and was only worried out of this race in the shadow of the post. A similar modest race should come his way, especially as he’s finished clear of the rest.
Tucker, who faded when the chips were down, was having his first outing for nearly eight weeks, while Blandford Flyerwas not disgraced on his first outing for a year.
Sea Venture, having had every chance, weakened rapidly in the final half-mile.
