Home Hunter has always looked as though he had a run like this in him. Held up early, he closed up from the third last and threw down a persistent challenge from the second last butjust couldn't get upsides or past the winner. It was still a fine effort and he's well capable of winning a good race.
Shakervilz wasn't quite able to reproduce the effort which saw him win so easily at Fairyhouse last time. Held up early, he travelled perfectly well to close up at the third last and attempted to challenge between the final two flights but couldn't find any extra in the straight.
Siegemaster tracked the leaders and appeared to be going as well as anything before the second last but found little when asked to race. It was quite a disappointing effort.
Caramia stayed on past beaten horses to be nearest at the finish, while Powerfulpaddy looked beaten after a mile and dropped behind before keeping on again.
Prudent Honour briefly looked a danger when making progress to get into a challenging position before the fourth last but was quickly beaten before the second last.
Parsons Pistol again disappointed. He led or disputed until the fourth last but quickly dropped away, his second disappointing effort in succession.[JOH]
