Summit Surge chased leaders, 4th halfway, wide entering straight, ridden into 3rd 1f out, kept on well to lead close home
Great War Eagle soon led, ridden over 1f out, kept on well, headed close home
Prince Shaun soon settled behind leaders, 5th halfway, ridden into 2nd 1 1/2f out, no extra under 1f out, kept on same pace
Captain Marvelous chased leaders, 3rd halfway, ridden into 2nd 2f out, no extra in 4th 1f out, kept on same pace
Excelerate held up in rear, wide entering straight, 7th over 1f out, kept on final furlong
Akua´Ba mid-division, 6th halfway, ridden 2f out, kept on same pace
Campfire Glow towards rear, ridden and no impression 2f out
Rock Of Rochelle soon chased leader, 2nd halfway, ridden in 3rd 2f out, soon no extra and weakened
Sitting off the early pace, the horse looked to be struggling for a few strides before the turn-in but picked up really well from a furlong out to win going away. The Listed Celebration Stakes at the Curragh is the next likely target.
Great War Eagle put in a fine run. Attempting to make all and travelling well throughout, he quickened a furlong and a half out but was unable to fend off the winner, who collared him comfortably enough. Even though he has won over this trip at two, he does seem to possess quite a lot of natural speed, maybe enough to suggest that he could win over a furlong shorter.
Prince Shaun put up a bold show on his first try at this level. Handy for most of the way, he attempted to mount a challenge towards the outside early in the straight and briefly gave chase to the runner-up a furlong out. He wasn't good enough on this occasion but should be a good performer at Listed level.
Held up early, Excelerate was another one to come wide into the straight in search of better ground. He kept on well inside the final furlong and was nearest at the finish without being a threat. He looks worth persevering with at Listed and Group 3 level, although he's probably not quite good enough to win a Group 3.
At this level, Akua'Ba finished about as close as she was entitled to. Held up towards the rear, she was unable to make any impression in the straight and just kept on at one pace.
The main disappointment of the race was the supplemented Campfire Glow. She wasnever any closer than her finishing position and didn't produce any response when asked for her effort from early in the straight.
Rock Of Rochelle raced prominently early on but was being pushed along to stay in touch well over two furlongs out and soon dropped away. [JOH]
