Unlucky not to win the race twelve months ago, WEDGER PARDY made no mistake on this occasion. Tracking the leaders and travelling well, a huge jump at the big double took him to the front and he was kicked on into a few lengths lead three out. It looked for a brief time that he may have gone to the front too soon but he found plenty and had the race won when his main rival crashed out at the final fence. It was a deserved success in a race like this, and he's likely to run again later in the week in either the La Touche or the Champion Hunters Chase.

There were very few stars it would seem in this contest. Chance Your Arm was in a prominent position for most of the way but was unable to go with the two principals when they went on and he was left a poor second at the final fence.

Easter Saturday was held up in mid-division early and looked to be making decent progress and travelling well at about the fourth last, but could only keep on at one pace from there.

Last year's winner Red Setter ran well below his best. Having been prominent for most of the way, he was back-pedalling from about six out and in the end was pulled up before the final fence.

Money Point was prominent all the way, and this giant son of Supreme Leader was the only horse that could go on with the winner to any degree. He would have been a clear-cut second but for taking a heavy fall at the final fence.

Bold Cent burst a blood vessel and was pulled up. [JOH]
