Clemax led, ridden 3 out, headed next, rallied to lead run-in, gamely
Cluthe Boy tracked leaders, driven to lead 2 out, headed run-in, kept on under pressure
Glamis Castle prominent, effort and driven 3 out, soon one pace
Key Time close up, driven 3 out, soon no extra
Guns And Butter held up in touch, headway before 3 out, weakened before next
Dalawan close up to 4 out, soon lost place
Commercial Express behind, pushed along from 4th, never on terms, virtually pulled up run-in
Portavadie behind, struggling 4 out, tailed off when pulled up before 2 out
My Arch mistake 1st, towards rear, driven and outpaced when fell 4 out
He was tried in blinkers for this return to hurdling on a mark 5lb lower than his chase one, and as he goes well on fast ground, he may well find further opportunities.
Cluthe Boy turned in a career-best over hurdles on his first run at 3m. He travelled up sweetly, and went on two out, but he idled a bit when in front and was caught after the last. He was well clear of the rest, handles fast ground and should find a similar race, even though he will go up a pound or two for this.
That said, he was well clear of fourth-placed Key Time, who dropped out from the third-last after racing prominently.
My Arch, who has run so consistently, made a mistake at the first and was never happy after that, and was struggling when he came down four out.
