SYCHO FRED, one of four in the race for trainer Richard Phillips, was gifted victory by Hill Forts Henry, who had a clear advantage turning in but hung his chance away after the last, where he veered towards the exit.
The winner hadn't looked at home on this ground when pulled up on Sunday, but he proved that theory all wrong to edge out Little Rort, who had every chance and kept on to run the winner close.
Assumptalina travelled strongly and looked sure to play a part in the finish before nodding on landing at the fourth last, where she went wrong and was quickly pulled up.
