Medici Pearl tracked leaders going well, not clear run and switched right over 2f out, quickened to lead final 75yds, readily
Blue Spinnaker prominent, led over 1f out, headed and no extra well inside final furlong
Ink Spot steadied start, held up in rear, effort on outside over 2f out, kept on one pace approaching final furlong
The Osteopath held up towards rear, kept on final 2f, never near leaders
Red And White tracked leader, took keen hold, driven over 3f out, one pace final 2f
Billy Dane tracked leaders, went 2nd over 3f out, hung left and weakened over 1f out
Moheebb in rear, not clear run and switched right 2f out, staying on when switched left inside final furlong, never a factor
Marning Star took keen hold, led until headed and weakened over 1f out
Jamieson Gold chased leaders, driven over 3f out, weakened approaching final furlong
Esoterica held up toward rear, effort 3f out, weakened over 1f out
Minority Report soon detached in rear, never on terms
Elliwan chased leaders, driven over 4f out, soon lost place, behind final 2f, tailed off
The younger, more progressive and better handicapped Medici Pearl proved strongest having travelled through the race like the best horse. It was just a case of whether she would get a run but once pulled out by David Allan, she picked up strongly and asserted in the final furlong.
Blue Spinnaker relishes these conditions and he couldn't have done any more in defeat. He is in cracking form and connections might well be able to bag another prize with him before the season is out, providing he gets his favoured testing surface.
The Osteopath plugged on for a remote fourth but he's not been at his best recently and it's hard to gauge whether or not this was an improved effort given how far he has been beaten.
