Summer Of Love tracked leader to over 5f out, stayed close 3rd, ridden on inside to lead 1f out, pushed out
Snake Skin tracked leaders, went 2nd over 5f out to over 1f out, ran on final furlong to go 2nd near finish
Prime Number soon led, ridden and headed 1f out, one pace and lost 2nd near finish
Bienheureux held up in touch, ridden and outpaced 2f out
Generous Lad slowly into stride, held up in touch, outpaced over 2f out, eased final furlong
Sayago held up in touch, effort on outside over 2f out, soon beaten and eased
The first three were in the first three places throughout, and when it came to a sprint finish it was the hurdles winner SUMMER OF LOVE, racing for the first time on the Flat for Alan King, who proved best equipped for the task. She won well, but would not necessarily be one to take short odds about next time.
Snake Skin won over the course and distance last May, but that was on soft ground, as was her more recent win this season, and conditions could hardly have been more different.
The first three were clear of Bienheureux, whose most recent of three course-and-distance wins came from off the pace in a massive field. He has never won from a mark this high.
