IT'S NO PROBLEM had beaten just one rival home in a seller on the Lingfield Polytrack when last seen, over seven months previously, but she has since switched yards and returned to something like her best here.
She was not that well away, but recovered to race close up, and galloped on strongly after taking over three furlongs out. She had plenty to find atthe weights with some of these so, although only moderate, she is clearly better than her current mark of just 40.
Penny Island won a handicap off a mark of 65 on his return to the Flat at Nottingham last time, but that success was gained on a soft surface and this ground had probably dried out a little more than he would have liked. He had 10lb in hand of the winner at the weights so, although that one is a bit better than her current rating suggests, he was clearly a little way below form.
Measured Response, carrying 1lb overweight, had blinkers on for the first time on his return to the Flat, but was well held in fourth. He is still a maiden, but is entitled to come on a little for this first run in nearly three months.
Marquee attracted support in the morning and was the best off at the weights, but he was well beaten.
