Analyis of the race
What looked a fair bumper with a number of the top stables represented went to debutant ITS TOUGH, who won well despite running green when hitting the front. He seemed to have a mountain to climb off the home bend as he only had daylight behind him but he picked up in pleasing fashion when asked and won going away. He is considered a chaser in the making and will now be put away until the autumn.
Tanks For That had been sent off a warm favourite on his debut when finishing fourth so he is obviously quite well regarded and as he and the winner came away the form looks solid enough.
The Grifter did well to finish where he did a s he was very keen and as long as his ability can be channeled in the right direction there is better to come from him.
Swansbrook did not have a lot of room off the home turn and, in the circumstances, this was a fair debut effort.
On Spec took them along so he had his chance and looks as if he will be better suited to hurdles in the autumn.
