Monteriggioni slowly away, headway on inner approaching straight, 7th 2f out, quickened well to lead over 1f out, kept on under pressure
Head Of The River always prominent, 3rd 3f out, disputed briefly under 2f out, no extra but kept on one pace inside final furlong
Vaqueras in rear early, pulled his way to the front before halfway, strongly pressed from early straight, dropped to 3rd 1 1/2f out, kept on
Definate Spectacle tracked leaders, 6th 3f out, kept on well from 1f out to go 4th
Silver Tide in rear of mid-division, kept on well from 2f out without reaching leaders
Perfect Memory tracked leaders and took keen hold, 4th 3f out, ridden and no extra under 2f out, kept on
Fereeji tracked leaders racing keenly, 6th 3f out, no extra from under 2f out
Qassas in rear, kept on from 2f out without reaching leaders
Regaleya never a factor
Jubilant Note never better than mid-division
Raise A Row never a factor
Grantsville in rear, some headway into close 10th approaching straight, 5th and ridden 2f out, soon no extra and weakened
Numen led, headed before halfway, 3rd 3f out, weakened quickly early straight
Luck Wud Have It chased leaders, 8th 3f out, soon no extra and weakened over 1f out
Head Of The River, winner of a 1m1f maiden at Listowel last season, showed improvement from his first run of the season. He raced in second place and was widest as the field packed up on the final bend. He got to the front briefly over a furlong out and kept on when headed.
Vaqueras, runner-up in the Irish Lincoln in which he was 5lb out of the handicap, took a keen hold and moved quickly through the field to lead over six furlongs out. He continued in front until well into the straight and kept on, running a good race considering how freely he raced early on.
Silver Tide, having her first run since winning a 1m1f maiden at Wolverhampton in November, had plenty of placed form before achieving her win and she ran well enough here to suggest she is handicapped to win again. [TOH]
