Vilasol tracked leader, disputed lead from halfway, led over 2f out, stayed on well under pressure final furlong
Ryehill Dreamer in rear on inner, some progress into 6th 2f out, not much room over 1f out, stayed on well between horses to go 2nd close home
Daggers Bond in rear of mid-division on inner, 7th and switched right early straight, stayed on well inside final furlong to go 3rd close home
Solasai tracked leaders, 4th 2f out, ridden and went 2nd 1f out, soon no extra and dropped to 4th close home
Chief Wild Cat led, joined halfway, headed entering straight, 3rd and no extra 1f out, dropped to 5th close home
Tosach Nua in rear, kept on well from over 1f out
Little Opera mid-division on outer, 5th 2f out, no extra from 1f out
Four Star General tracked leaders, 3rd 2f out, no extra from over 1f out, weakened
Blue Boatman in rear, switched to outer in straight, no impression but kept on one pace
Ailleagan prominent on inner, lost place before straight, no threat final 2f
Granite Lad always towards rear
Ryehill Dreamer won’t be long in winning. Held up early, he didn’t have the clearest of runs in the straight and received a hefty bump from the favourite, but when a gap appeared inside the final furlong he quickened through it in good style but the winner had flown. He would deserve to be a short-priced favourite to reverse the placings should they meet again.
Plenty of promise, too, from Daggers Bond. He ran green and struggled a little bit to go the early pace but kept on strongly when pulled to the outside in the closing stages. He should come on hugely for the experience and looks certain to win races. He should get an extra furlong as well.
Chief Wild Cat ran keenly from the front and lacked a gear when the winner quickened over a furlong out. He kept on at one pace inside the final furlong and perhaps 5f on a sound surface might suit him better.
There was some promise from Little Opera, who closed on the outside over a furlong out but then weakened, while favourite Four Star General had aprominent position for most of the way and wasn’t knocked about when his chance had gone inside the final furlong. He can be better judged on what he does next time out. [JOH]
