My Girl Sophie, runner-up over 6f on heavy ground at Cork on her reappearance, tried to make all but was unable to match the winner inside the final furlong. Winner of a 6f nursery on soft ground at Leopardstown last year, she will be adding to this victory either over this trip or back over 6f.
Inwood, placed on five of his previous 13 attempts, had been well beaten over 6f on heavy ground at the Curragh six days previously. Back to 7f here, he made good headway from the back of the field over the last two furlongs and stayed on well. He should be capable of winning in similar company.
Ginger Princess, up 10lb for her win over the same trip at Leopardstown early this month, came from behind to go third over 1f out and kept on under pressure. Her rider was cautioned for using his whip with excessive frequency.
Alone He Stands, up 3lb for his win over the trip at Leopardstown on his previous start, was ridden more prominently on this occasion and was done with early in the straight.
Port Of Spain ran only twice previously, winning a 7f Leopardstown maiden on fast ground late last season. Soon prominent, he began to weaken well over 1f out and edged right before fading out of contention.
Cuilaphuca was a well-supported favourite having finished third over this trip on her reappearance at Leopardstown. However, she was clearly struggling by halfway and never threatened. Pat Shanahan reported that she was never travelling. She was reported to be " post race normal " following veterinary examination. [TO'H]
