The winner had campaigned without success over jumps last year since coming from Britain. He had a couple of outings on the all-weather to his credit which stood to him here and the former 6f Lingfield winner on the sand in 2005 kept on well under a good ride.
The runner-up was another fresh from a couple of runs on the all-weather at Dundalk and the market raised hopes for his prospects. The four-time winner in Britain was probably inconvenienced by this ground but when it dries out over the coming months his turn may come again off a similar mark.
Over The Tylery had run better than her final placing suggested last time. She held every chance as the race began to unfold here but this race may have come too soon for her after her encouraging effort six days previously. She should appreciate a step back up in trip on this evidence.
Aye Aye Definitely hinted at enough ability over a trip probably short of her optimum, while the same could be said of Tornadodancer, who didn't look the easiest of ridesin the closing stages when hanging left.
Ebenholz and Romeo’s On Fire both featured prominently in the betting, but neither put their best foot forward on this occasion. [BF]
