Stepping up in trip following a couple of runs over 7f, he relished every yard when taking up the running entering the final furlong and drawing away. He looks like he'll appreciate even further in due course.
The 82-rated Sufad had finished in the frame in all three outings last term and was fancied to play a more prominent role. He was bang there two furlongs from home with every chance but had no answer when the winner sprinted away. This was his first outing of the season so some improvement is likely.
Chevie, rated 83, had shown ability on his two starts at Dundalk as a juvenile but was out of his depth in a conditions event at Leopardstown onhis seasonal debut. He was fancied to take advantage of this drop in class but after leading early in the straight was soon fighting a losing battle.
Of the four newcomers Keyala performed with most credit. Towards the back rounding the home turn, she made nice headway but was unable to maintain that momentum in the closing stages. She should learn a bundle for this initial experience.
Orpen Winger was expected to step up on his debut at Limerick two weeks previously but he couldn't raise his game fitted with a tongue strap for the first time when asked for his effort after halfway.
The well-exposed Lyrical Symphony broke smartly to race at the head of affairs until dropping away when the tempo increased after turning for home.
*The rider of Tropical Joy reported that his mount had hung right throughout.
*The rider of Ajman reported thathis mount had run "very green". [BF]
