BLUEBERRY TART was settled just off the pace, made progress from early in the straight and once hitting the front a furlong out she found plenty and fought off her challengers. She’ll probably come back here for a similar event.
Runner-up Rosangla had a reasonable position on the inside the whole way, and kept on well all the way to the line to chase home the winner. She seems to appreciate this surface and looks good enough to win a similar event.
If there was a slightly unlucky horse, it was Blaise Hollow. He dwelt coming out of the stalls and was last after a furlong, but made progress through the field over the last half mile. He came to challenge a furlong out but could find no extra while the winner just pulled out that bit more. It would have been interesting to see what he might have achieved with a level break.
Flattering to deceive somewhat was Patrickswell. Always reasonable handy, he travelled well to move up alongside the leader over two furlongs out, but his effort petered out inside the final furlong and a half as if stamina was an issue.
