Making virtually all, he was clear over a furlong and a half out and was ridden out more or less all the way to the line. The colt holds entries in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and the Epsom Derby, and while you wouldn’t get carried away with this effort, he possesses above-average ability at least andshould improve.
Runner-up Nice Style showed a fair bit of ability on his Curragh debut, but whether this effort matched that is open to question. Settled off the pace, he began to run on a furlong and a half out but by that stage the winner had flown and all he could do was stay on for second place. He probably wasn’t good enough on the night anyway, but he should be good enough to win a maiden.
I Confess was up with the pace most of the way on the inside and was in a good position from which to challenge early in the straight but could make no impression from a furlong out. He’s not at all certain to win a race given his record of last season but has enough ability.
Alaneed was restrained early but made ground on the outside early in the straight before being ridden over two furlongs out and was soon beaten.
