Akinspirit tracked leaders, 6th halfway, headway to 3rd 4 out, ridden in 6th and no extra before 2 out

Swiftmarc towards rear, some late headway, never a factor

Buck Breeze soon chased leader, ridden in 3rd 3 out, soon weakened

Gaspar chased leaders, 5th halfway, ridden and weakened before 3 out

Bulls And Mortar always behind, tailed off

He’s not always the most reliable of conveyances, but this was very much a going day for TORRID KENTAVR, and he could have been called the winner from some way out. Confidently ridden by his inexperienced amateur pilot, he improved on the final circuit and was travelling best of all coming out of the dip. He eventually challenged at the final flight and went away to win well. He’s in at Punchestown next week and is likely to go there.

By The Brook showed a bit of an appetite for racing today. Leading early, he was ridden and looked to be struggling when he was headed at the second-last, but to his credit he battled back strongly to get back up for second. He would appreciate further to boot.

Rebel Run ran in first-time blinkers and ran his best race for a while, even though the blinds may have lit him up a little bit more than was wanted. His jumping was mostly impeccable as well. Always in the leading group, he joined the leader after the third-last and attempted to go and win his racetwo out, but he had no real answer when he was headed.

Handy most of the way was Start From Scratch. He could never quite get into it and was hard ridden from about three out, before keeping on at the one pace to be just about nearest at the finish.

Favourite Swiftmarc was never in the hunt and finished well beaten. He was found to be lame post race on veterinary examination.
