Taking closer order on the final circuit, the winner got a nice split one off the railto challenge at the second-last and soon took command, eventually winning very much eased down by just over a length. He’s becoming a consistent performer and can continue to pay his way on good ground.
Arviz is another promising enough individualthat should win a race sooner rather than later. Settled towards the rear, he began to make significant progress to get into a challenging position before the second-last, and while Strolling Home did get first run on him to some degree, he was beaten fair and square.
Always prominent was Mega Steps, and he’s another that wouldn’t surprise many people if he won a race or two. Always tracking the lead, he just wasn’t quite able to hold his position coming out of the dip before running on again after the last. He’s likely to stay further.
There was a nice bit of promise shown by the well-bred mare Aggie. She’s bred to appreciate a trip in excess of this. Held up out the back, she was never involved and had about ten horses in front of her between the final two flights, before staying on well from the last to be nearest at thefinish.
Soleil Levant probably ran better than her finishing position as she was being ridden but was starting to close when making a mistake four out. She would have finished a bit closer but for that.
Favourite Imperial Hills was beaten after one flight. He was brought to a standstill by a faller at the first flight and his race was run at that point.
