WENGER, stepping up in trip again, appeared to lose his place at one stage of the race, but he made good progress on their final circuit and got to the lead three from home. He did just enough to hang on and was a worthy winner.
Toni Alcala is not an easy ride and once again took a lot of pushing from an early stage. A slight mistake at the last did not help his cause and he only narrowly failed to follow up his recent success.
Delightful Cliché was very keen in the early stages in the first-time blinkers and that seemed to end his chances as the tempo lifted. However, the jockey got another effort out of him up the home straight and he was far from disgraced.
Dune Raider was behind with Toni Alcala in the early stages and made ground gradually. However, once asked to quicken, he looked far from enthusiastic and did not convince with his attitude.Iris Royal enjoyed himself for a lot of the race but is nowhere near the horse he once was, while Big Al folded tamely once passed for the lead.
