BEHERYAN, whose victory last time was slightly tarnished by the runner-up's jockey being banned for insufficient effort, produced another fine front-running performance and is in great heart. A hat-trick looks likely if kept going through the summer.
Cortinas, who had missed three races since his course-and-distance win in March due to easy ground, looked a big danger rounding the home bend but he found less than expected and was well held. He should be straighter for the run and will be of interest next time.
Fresh Air And Fun, a real chasing type, shaped well for a lot of the race but did not jump particularly well.
Roddi Greene will be a lot fitter for his effort on Peaceful Means, as he was pushing his mount along some way from home.
The first five were well clear of the remainder.
