Just a selling race in all but name. APOCALOZZO looked on a lenient mark on his point-to-pointing form and was able to capitalise under a positive ride from Richard Johnson. He had been kicked into the lead at the third and despite hitting the fence going out of the straight on two occasions and not being too clever at the third-last, came clear in good style and could well follow up under a penalty.

Even Flo is still a maiden but ran a sound race despite being hampered on the bend after the eighth and he kept on well in the closing stages. He ran well in the first-time tongue-tie and could soon find a little race like this on a return visit.

Boscall Hill had reached the frame in this race last year off a stiffer mark and was always chasing until weakening after two out but at least gave a reasonable account once more.
