Another display of Tony McCoy at his strongest and best as he powered RAPSCALLION to victory. He had been a bit untidy at the first but was soon organised and chasing the leader Mr Wiseguy until going to the fifth but was readily headed at the next and going to two out it appeared that his goose was cooked. However, no one had told the jockey and his never-say-die attitude paid dividends when the nine-year-old was driven into the lead at the last and kept on well. He acts well on this course but thiswas a poor event.

Aleemdar, still under BHA investigation for irregular betting patterns, was having his first outing for 543 days and ran a remarkable race in the circumstances. He made progress to come through to lead at the sixth and was full of running at this stages and was still on the bridle going to two out. He did little wrong against a winner rated 33lb his superior and he would have to be considered a good thing for a selling handicap on this effort.
