CAVA BIEN seems to have profited from a change of yard and the step up to 3m for his new trainer. Although he was coming to the end of his tether, this trip takes some getting around here and he should be all right back on a sharper track. The plan will be to keep him over hurdles until the handicapper gets hold of him and then put him back over fences.
Ladino had not run for 18months so this was a pleasing return as he was making inroads into the winner's advantage close home. As long as he shows no ill effects for this comparatively hard race after his long layoff, he should be up to taking one of these.
Bob Mountain looked to be going well enough turning in but did not find that much and could muster just the one pace.
