The winner was returning to the level at which he won a better race last summer. Turning tracks and the 1m distance bring out the best in him, but he will know he's been in a race.
Brouhaha is running well for his new yard, but did not wear the cheekpieces which have been recently tried. He looked like reeling in Wahoo Sam, but when asked to go and do it, found less than expected.
Split The Wind raised her game to trouble the judge, running better over a new trip, while Balerno was 3lb higher for a recent win, but ridden from off the pace, could never get near enough to challenge.
