Modernist tracked leaders, ridden and went 2nd 2f out, one pace and no extra approaching final furlong
Ministerofinterior tracked winner until ridden 2f out, one pace after
Force Tradition steadied start, always behind
Hawkstar Express mid-division, ridden over 3f out, soon behind
Soundbyte always behind, lost touch final furlong, eased 1f out
There is not a lot of the former German-placed Lomitas four-year-old VINCES, and he wore bandages all round, but the bookingof Frankie Dettori proved significant when he was jumped out in front and made every yard. His trainer was evidently concerned about the ground and nearly did not run.
Kiho had run to only a modest level when in mid division in two maidens previously, but he ran on to take second approaching the furlong marker and now has handicaps as an option.
Modernist had not shown much on his Nottingham debut last year, and his modest fourth seems to confirm he is one of the stable's lesser lights. (GD)
