Choiseau, having his first run since finishing second to a subsequent Listed race winner atSalisbury last August, looked as if he would benefit from the outing and ran accordingly. He was keeping on well at the finish and should appreciate an extra furlong.
Sister Moonshine had not set the world alight in two runs as a juvenile, but sheturned in a solid effort here, suggesting that she has gone the right way from two to three. She is now eligible for handicaps, and could be worth keeping in mind for a low-grade contest, possibly over 7f.
Sir Boss, another gelded debutant, was by no means disgraced, finishing ahead of flopping favourite Provence, who found little when asked for her effort two furlongs out. Provence had been beaten at odds-on on her final outing last season, but that was on slow ground and trainer Barry Hills's son Charlie suggested that the going - despite the official description of having 'good to firm' places - may have been a bit dead for the filly here as well.
