REBECCA DE WINTER impressed in always looking the likely winner here, showing good all-round speed. She only needed nudging out up the straight after clearing away into the final furlong. She clearly showed the benefit of her debut on the all-weather last week and connections have her pencilled in for either the Hilary Needler or National Stakes ahead of the reason behind her purchase, the Weatherby's Super Sprint at Newbury which connections won with If Paradise.
Viva Ronaldo deserves plenty of credit as only one newcomer has won this in the last 13 runnings. He also had a poor draw but showed good pace and made light of being squeezedup badly off the home turn. A clearcut second. he should have no problem winning his maiden.
Fivefootnumberone also took the eye on this racecourse debut. He was settled on the rail off the pace but tracked the front five into the straight and after running green under pressure ran on takingly in the final 100 yards to suggest an early win at 6f. That augurs well as his family is full of later maturing sorts so he could have a long and profitable career.
Rievaulx World ran better than the bare form, showing good speed from the railside draw before weakening inside the final furlong.
Musical Bridge was badly outpaced which was a surprise after his good Bath debut.
