HUZZAH has a most progressive profile and defied his latest 6lb rise for another narrow win. This was even better as he chased the strong pace and into the final furlong looked about to win by a couple of lengths. Exertions finally told and he was gasping for the line, changing his legs in the last 50 yards. He seems best with cut in the ground and another rise in rating will further limit his opportunities.
Fervent Prince, another going forward at a rate, remains enigmatic in that he was shown the whip after a couple of furlongs as he slouched along among the backmarkers. He crucially had to wait for the gap inside the last two furlongs after making strong headway and was bearing down rapidly on the winner in the last 100 yards. Being gelded has clearly brought progression and a strong pace will always play to his strengths. On this showing he may get further and unlike the winner faster conditions hold no fears.
Wasan was another to come from off the pace but swinging wide into the straight, he never threatened to get competitive on this small drop back in trip. He looks to want the full 1m on a galloping track but is another who remains most progressive.
Adversity can be forgiven this run as he could not overcome the outside berth. He was dropped in last brought across to the rail but things did not go his way and he ended up coming wide again to get a run up the straight, staying on when it was all over and never threatening to land a blow and is another who looks more a miler.
Toto Skyllachy couldn't go the early pace and plodded on when it was all over past tired rivals.
Magnitude deserves rating better than the bare form as the runner-up gave him a bump as they went for the same gap. He had travelled well onto the heels of the front five into the home bend but could not recover. He remains a progressive sort.
Royalist was only shaken off into the final furlong and, having not been left alone for the lead, he got tired and was not punished in a lost cause.
