Supermassive Muse, closely matched with the winner on recent Haydock form, made what looked a race-winning move when produced to lead inside the final furlong, but he was nailed on the post.
Style Award ran a decent race.
Baytown Blaze showed plenty of dash but failed to see off her race.
Kalhan Sands, dropped in trip, may need to drop a few pounds to get competitive.
The handsome President Elect was disappointing. In trouble at half-way, he looked pretty tame under pressure and was soon on the retreat.
