Black Falcon, whose rider put up 2lb overweight, has not won a race since 2004 and has lookedfar from enthusiastic on occasion. However, he could not be faulted this time and found the winner just a shade too strong. He finished well clear of the pack and reproduction of this form would see him ending his long losing run.
Srikuantan, whose refusal to settle has cost him since he won a Lingfield handicap in January, again raced too keenly and fell right away in the straight.
